If You Need To Travel Long Distances On Public Transport You Will Probably Be Glad Of A Notebook Computer
December 25th, 2009 | by Sydney |You know the one! You are travelling on public transport and the most annoying person in the world is sat by you, wanting to tell you their whole life happenings. Why? Just because you happen to be there! They could talk a glass eye to sleep and have determined today is your “lucky” day. You smile, make the appropriate noises, give little responses, after all nothing more is necessary, you are their captive audience, and you are desperate to be anywhere else but there.
If, however, you are blessed with the fortune to have a laptop, you can get this out, smile politely and let your co-passenger know that you really need to get some work done prior to a meeting you need to attend, or at the end of the day, work you must catch up on because you have been in meetings all day. They will, normally, leave you alone.
There will still be the odd drunken commuter who thinks you must be bored silly, having to work when travelling, and will make up their mind it is their task to enrich the experience for you, but on balance it is better than no laptop at all. If you Work From Home, it might be that you must travel to visit clients, and those hours spent travelling could be invaluable for getting work done, in relative peace and quiet. There are no doubt many Online Jobs which you can catch up with while you ride on the train, perhaps not on a bus or a plane, but other jobs could be undertaken, in readiness for internet connection at the other end of the journey.
Work From Home does not actually have to mean you are working from your house all the time, it just means that you are not going to an office or business premises each day. An Internet Business could let you work from almost anywhere, so long trips could be seen as something of a benefit – you are sat down, you are not driving, you can spend this time totally concentrating on the task in hand. When you get where you are going, you feel you have achieved something worthwhile during the drive.
The enjoyment of working in the Internet Business at a time like this can be brilliant! Setting off on a journey at 6am or getting home after 11pm, knowing you have put in a long day but which has been of benefit to your firm, allowing you to maybe have a short day one of the other days of the week to make up for it, fantastic! Those Online Jobs which were increasing are now all in hand and feel you are now on top of your work.
Perhaps you even find time to email your friends, those who you have been meaning to get in touch with for some while but there is always a reason why this does not happen. Today is the day to sort it. You are there, with your notebook computer. Many travellers sit on the train watching iplayer or similar, just chilling, and it is lovely to see them sitting with their headphones on, giggling away at some telly programme. Work is done. Give yourself a rest.
